HOW TO ORDER A WEDDING CAKE

Like most of our couples, you probably haven’t had to order a wedding cake before. You might not have ordered any bespoke cake before. So let's chat about what you're looking to see if you would like to book with us, from browsing our website to your wedding day!

Get to Know Us Here at Sweet Everythings
Spend some time browsing our website and social media. Look at the cakes we make and the way that we work. We talk a lot about the way we make wedding cakes, the sizes, how much wedding cake to order, and planning when it comes to buttercream wedding cakes.

Ok, you're ready to start looking into a possible booking! Please fill in our contact form to see if we're available to make your wedding cake on your date. We will confirm straight away whether your date is available and go through our initial quote form. You can add your wedding details, see photo examples of our wedding cake styles and choose your favourite one. You'll then receive your wedding quote for you to consider. And don't worry if you are unsure on design details! Most couples secure their date before they have finalised a design for their wedding cake.

On our Wedding Cake form, you can share all your preferences: What kind of day are you planning? Is your dream cake sophisticated with lots of details or a simple white cake with vintage swirls? Would you like natural flowers on your wedding cake, or a quirky yet cute cake topper? Do you need to hire a wedding cake stand from us as well? We like to keep it simple and we're happy to answer any and all questions.

Wedding cake samples are completely optional. We offer sample boxes that are posted out every few weeks when they are freshly baked. That way, you can enjoy the samples at home while you consider the different flavour combinations. We do charge a sample box fee of £20 + postage and packaging. But if you book with us within two weeks of receiving your sample box, we apply the £20 to your booking total.

Within a few days of your form getting back to us, we will send through a straightforward quote for you. It will include all of the details about your event (venue, date, delivery time) and your cake – size, flavours, icing finish and serving size. The price is broken down in the quote, and we're happy to help adjust it until it's suitable.

Once you’re happy with your quote, tick cake off of your wedding to-do list! We invite you to secure your date in our diary with a £100 booking fee. This payment will be taken off your final balance once the design of your cake is confirmed. It is a great way to secure us as your wedding cake supplier, especially if you don't know exactly what you want yet. If you would like to 'try before you buy' our sample boxes are available for anyone who wants to try our cake before putting down a deposit and are available to order here. The remaining total is due at least 45 days before your Big Day. We'll send you email reminders around that time. ​

You are all booked and now the countdown begins to your big day! If you have any questions during this time you can always pop us an email, but hopefully all your questions have been answered. If you would like to add or change any booking details, just pop us an email and we can add these to your order. Any changes to be made must be confirmed before your final balance is due. Around this time, we will be contacting your venue and any other suppliers where necessary to confirm our logistics. We will also provide your venue with a full list of ingredients and allergens enabling your guests to ask any allergen advice without worrying.

A Few Days More!
Not soon til your big day now! During the week of your wedding, we will be preparing to create your cake and baking everything so it's all ready to be served on the day of your wedding. We hope you enjoy these last few exciting days leading up to your wedding day, and find some time to relax!

On the day, each of your wedding cake tiers is transported to the venue to be stacked and decorated. When it’s finished, we will ask your designated contact to sign for the cake and provide them with details on storing and cutting the cake, as well as flavours and allergens. Then, enjoy! It's your Big Day, so don't forget to have a slice (or more) yourselves!

The day is over, but the love goes on . . . We genuinely love to hear from you after your wedding day! We hope your day was everything you dreamed of and more.
