HOW TO ORDER A WEDDING CAKE

Like most of our couples, you probably haven’t had to order a wedding cake before. You might not have ordered any bespoke cake before. So let's chat about what you're looking to see if you would like to book with us, from browsing our website to your wedding day!

Spend some time browsing our website and social media. Look at the cakes we make and the way that we work. We talk a lot about the way we make wedding cakes, the sizes, how much wedding cake to order, and planning when it comes to buttercream wedding cakes.

Ok, you're ready to start looking into a possible booking! Send us an enquiry to see if we're available to make your wedding cake on your date. We will let you know straight away if we have space in the diary, how we can help, and provide a link to our wedding cake quote form. You can add your wedding details, see photo examples of our wedding cake styles and choose your favourite one. You'll then receive your wedding quote for you to consider.

On the Wedding Cake form, you can share all your preferences: What kind of day are you planning? Is it rustic or vintage? Would you like natural flowers on your wedding cake, or a quirky yet classy cake topper? We like to keep it simple and we're happy to answer any and all questions.

Wedding cake samples are completely optional. We offer sample boxes that are posted out every few weeks when they are freshly baked. That way, you can enjoy the samples at home while you consider the different flavour combinations. We do charge a sample box fee of £20 + postage and packaging. But if you book with us within two weeks of receiving your sample box, we apply the £20 to your booking total.

Within a few days of your form getting back to us, we will send through a straightforward quote for you. It will include all of the details about your event (venue, date, delivery time) and your cake – size, flavours, icing finish and serving size. The price is broken down in the quote, and we're happy to help adjust it until it's suitable.

Once you’re happy with your quote, tick cake off of your wedding to-do list! 50% of your booking total secures your date in our diary. The remaining total is due at least 45 days before your Big Day. We'll send you email reminders around that time.

Over the months leading up to your wedding day, we’ll keep in touch as details are finalised. Around the time that your final instalment is due, we will get in touch to confirm on-the-day details: who to contact at the wedding venue, your florist's details, etc. Typically, after our last email confirming details, we won’t speak until after your wedding day. During the week of your wedding, we will be preparing to create your cake and baking everything so it's all ready to be served on the day of your wedding.

On the day, each of your wedding cake tiers is transported to the venue to be stacked and decorated. When it’s finished, we will ask your designated contact to sign for the cake and provide them with details on storing and cutting the cake, as well as flavours and allergens. Then, enjoy! It's your Big Day, so don't forget to have a slice (or more) yourselves!
